Bed Bathing & Continence Care Personal Hygiene requirements using PERI-FOAM Foaming Skin Cleanser

BED BATHING:

  • Toiletries – PERI-FOAM skin cleanser
  • Gloves
  • Basin of warm water
  • Wash cloths, (separate one for genital area)
  • Towel
  • Disposable incontinence napkin (if required)
  • Toilet tissue if required for faecal incontinence

Taking care to respect privacy and dignity expose only the areas to be cleaned

Wash from head to toes

- Apply PERI-FOAM to damp wash cloth

- Move sheet and towel to the waist.

- Cover top half of body while washing legs.

- Turn to one side and clean the back.

CONTINENCE SKIN CARE : Napkin change

  • PERI-FOAM skin cleanser
  • Gloves
  • Damp wash cloth
  • Disposable incontinence napkin
  • Toilet tissue for faecal incontinence
  • Bag for removal of soiled articles

METHOD:

  • Remove wet/soiled napkin
  • Remove excess faecal matter with tissue
  • Apply PERI-FOAM to damp wash cloth
  • Wash genital area with PERI-FOAM, no need to rinse off
  • Fit clean disposable napkin
